My students filed in, sat down and started their slices.
“It’s the last day!” Someone said.
Another student’s face fell, in puppy dog sadness. “I’m sad that it’s over.” she said, and then paused, shook her head a bit and added, “Well, sad and also kind of happy too, you know?”
Yep. I know.
On a Thought 
Yes! I get that feedback from my students a lot. You’ve put it perfectly here – we feel the same way! It’s such an amazing experience – so hard, yet so rewarding. So sad it’s over, but so relieved!
