I am participating in the March Slice of Life Challenge: A slice a day for all of March. You should do it too! Thank you, Two Writing Teachers! Readers, check out their site, and start slicing!
Sundays around here. . .
We aren’t so good at Sundays
when our break just expired.
We aren’t so good at chores
when we’re traveler tired.
We aren’t so good at homework
when we waited a week to start.
We aren’t so good at grocery shopping
when we keep buying a la carte
We aren’t so good at laundry
when it’s piled up with socks.
We aren’t so good at bedtimes
when we had to change the clocks.
We aren’t so good at vacations
when they are at their end.
We aren’t so good at school
when we’re not ready for it again.
OMG! I love this! I love the rhythm, as well as the message. So sorry you have to go back to school, but it inspired a great poem.
The vacation must have been a very good one! Love how you crafted your poem — rhyme, repetition, rhythm. Have a great Monday!
Love this. It sure lets us know that you had a great vacation and aren’t ready for the real world tomorrow
This is another great idea for a slice! We didn’t do so great here with the time change either! I dread school tomorrow!
This was SO perfect to bring a smile to my own, failed attempt at a calm, peaceful Sunday enjoyed as a family. Thanks!! Transitions weeks are the hardest… mine has no excuse?! But I seek compassion for my folly nonetheless. Hope your week starts off ok in the morning!
I love this! I have four more days until our break, and then I will be singing your same tune. Hope you had a great day back.
