I have decided that I am not getting
sick –
cold
or tummy.
Yes, my students are in a steady rotation
of staying home
(or coming to school)
with fevers, runny noses, coughs, belly aches, head aches, all the aches
But.
I have decided that I am not getting
sick.
Yes, my own kids have scratchy throats
and just today I started
sniffling
maybe
I have a little headache
maybe
I made a cup of Throat Coat tea this afternoon
But.
I have decided that I am not getting
sick.
I mean I am taking extra vitamins
and echinacea
and zinc
and drinking lots of water
and I did make some
Cold Care tea just now
But.
I have decided that I am not getting
sick.
Since I’m not getting sick,
I wasn’t annoyed to take the dog
outside in the cold
to watch him sniff the snow.
Since I’m not getting sick,
I haven’t been tired since 2:00
this afternoon.
I’ll get some more vitamins
and tissues
tomorrow
just in case.
I’ll go to bed soon
just in case.
But.
I have decided that I am not getting
sick.

I like the way you wrote this! I like the flow.
I wish it were possible to think sickness away!! I started sneezing today. 😦
Hope sneezing goes away. There are germs everywhere…😩
I love everything about this! Your determination not to get sick makes me feel like writing about something that I am not going to let happen to me. Mind over matter. Good luck!
Thanks!
I was thinking this format could work for other things too!
This was me last week! I love the back and forth between all the hints otherwise and your determination. SO relatable–and fun to read!
Thanks! Hope you are all better… or never got sick! 🙂
Haha such a fun slice! Love the determination. Any chance you teach Kindergarten? 😄
Hang in there!
Ha! Close. 2nd grade 🙂
What a great line to repeat. And, oh, do I feel your determination – and then the picture at the bottom of the post. I really really hope that your decisiveness and your immune system get together & agree. Here’s to not being sick!
